![]() 17 October 2008 After a day and a half in Nassau, Freeport seemed like a typical cruise stop. Arrive at 0800, depart at 1500. We still found time to rent scooters and drive around the island. In the Bahamas, you drive on the left side of the road. We returned to the ship just in time to break 550 contacts. Not too bad for a guy who stays up late while still trying to share the spectrum with his fellow hams on board. After 1600 Eastern Time, it was back to NA6M/HP0/MM. Funny how those letters don't pull folks from all over the world out of the wood work like C6AMS did. More studies are in order, stay tuned for the next adventure... Interesting Note: The Hi-Q Antenna started showing a very slight rust ring around one of the bolts at the bottom today. It has only been in the air a week. Pictures to follow, it does not look like a serious issue yet. |
